Deulofeu remembers the reason why he could not succeed at Barça

Gerard Deulofeu was in his day the greater promise of the quarry of the FC Barcelona​. The Catalan extreme seemed to have it everything to be able to convert an attacker of elite: speed, one against one, goal... But with having some qualities many times does not suffice and in his case this did not give him to triumph in the Barça neither in any club of level. The jump of the inferior categories to the professional football was too for him and at the end has finished being a shadow of what promised.

The one of Riudarenes is one of the leaders of the Watford from January of 2018 when it arrived yielded by the Barcelona. The English did with him in property this same summer and since is trying stand out in the Premier. In an interview to BeIN Sports, the Catalan recognised that it is happy in the English group and that no arrepiente to leave the Camp Nou. Deulofeu Tired of not playing each weekend and therefore it decided to leave.

"I am a person that does not want to be in the bench. I want to play and it does not matter if I am in the Barça, the Watford or the Bayern. What I want to is to be inside the field and be happy", admitted. For him the most important is to be in the field and therefore it is happier in a second row like the Watford that in the bench of the Camp Nou. "You can be much happier in Watford playing, although it was in a smaller team, that the Barça being acting. Without playing will not be happy, that is my mentality", explained.

Besides, the extreme left clear that is not happy of his go through the first team barcelonista, since it could not triumph in the team of his life, that is what always dreamed. Nevertheless, yes it is proud of his stage in the club, since it was where learnt all what knows. "I am proud to have me formed in the Barcelona because I learnt a lot of his academy, but todes the people know that my time in the first team was not the best. It was my aim and did not attain to fulfil it", aimed.

The competition that found the forward in the Barça was bestial and never could do a gap. In his last stage in 2018 had less competitors and more opportunities, but in this case was he the one who did not give the step forward that expected . "It was very difficult because you are playing well in the Barça B and know that have up to Messi, Neymar, Pedro... They are a lot of really good players and have to decide if you want to be patient and expect your moment or go out to live other experiences and play", remembered he same.

Satisfied with his sportive career

Finally, 'Deulo' also did quotation to his stages in the rest of teams in which it has been and ensured that it is happy with how has gone his career. "I am proud to go to all the other clubs and countries in what I have played. Now I have 26 years, think that am an entirely different player to when it was young and also am very happy because my career is being very good", finalised.
