Lionel Messi has once again rant about his time at PSG. The '10' reportedly admitted to a former Ligue 1 player that his time in Paris was "shit"
It is well known that Lionel Messi's time at Paris Saint-Germain was far from what was expected. The Argentine, as he himself has admitted, never felt completely at ease at the club and in the city, which is why he decided to leave the Parc des Princes once his contract expired in June 2023. However, more than a year later, details of the '10's' time in France continue to come to light.
This time it was the Belgian midfielder, Brecht Dejaegere, who revealed new secrets about the Rosario native and PSG. The veteran player, now at KV Kortrijk, was previously at Toulouse in France, where he coincided in Ligue 1 with Messi, and then at Charlotte in the United States, where he also shared a role with the 'flea' in the MLS.
In an extensive interview, the 33-year-old footballer revealed a brief conversation he had with Lionel about his situation at PSG. At the end of the match between Charlotte and Inter Miami, Brecht approached Messi and "I asked him if he felt better in Miami than in France. He was surprised: I told him that I had played against him with Toulouse at the Parc des Princes. He didn't remember, not me... but it was my childhood dream come true," the player admitted.
Messi's 'rant' against PSG
Later, Dejaegere confessed the harsh words that Leo said to him about his time in Paris.
"And then, that day, he told me that for him, at PSG, it was 'the shit'. Yes, 'the shit'"
"If at the beginning the welcome from the Parisians had been good, he had been disconcerted after the failure in the League: they whistled at him for every ball and he was fed up," Brecht concluded in his interview on the Belgian 'RTBF'.
Leo Messi, in two seasons in Paris, scored 32 goals and provided 35 assists in 75 games, important figures that put into context his discontent in the city and the institution. Now, the legend of football and FC Barcelona has returned to smile in Miami, where in 35 games he has already scored 30 goals and provided 17 assists.
