In an interview conceded to "L'Équipe", Jeremy Mathieu has recognised that the past 31 March decided extirparse the meniscus of the right knee, in a decision that served to shorten the terms of recovery of his injury, but that also could involve him consequences in the future.
In spite of everything, Mathieu, that to finals of the next month of October will fulfil 33 years, expects to finish of the best possible way his career and give the maximum performance, and therefore it decided to prioritise his sportive career although it can finish going lame to the 60 years.
"I decided extirpar the meniscus before that suturar to be in the Eurocopa and be with my club also. All was prioritario. If we had sewed, it would have been able to go back and recaer but know that it will not be that the case. When it withdraw me already we will see which raisin. When it be 60 years old I can go lame but the main for me is to take advantage of my passion by the football. I am near of the end of my career", explains.
Now that it already is recovered of his injury and goes back to participate in the trainings of the FC Barcelona, Jeremy Mathieu is happy and aspires to be summoned by Didier Deschamps for the Eurocopa of France 2016. "I have recovered a bit the smile. Everything will depend on the election of the seleccionador but physically will be available for the Eurocopa".
"When me lesioné thought that it was damned. I felt a crujido strong, thought that it had broken me the crusaders. When I knew that only it treated of the meniscus was a relief. Quickly I raised the head to go back the before possible", relates. And, on Deschamps and the French selection, added the following: "I Am happy because it follows being pending of my news, like the doctor of the French selection. It is a good signal".
