One of the controversies of the Alavés-Madrid (1-2) of this Saturday took place to few minutes after the beginning of the match. Éder Militao contacted with Aleix Vidal and the local player fell in the field, exaggerating something the action
It ran the minute 7 of party in the Alavés-Madrid contested this Saturday in Mendizorroza. The group babazorro was trying to approach to the goal of Aréola, and Aleix Vidal attained to confine in the area. This yes, could not advance too much. Éder Militao Crossed him , there was contact between the boot of the Brazilian and the leg of the Catalan, and this last went to the floor exaggerating something the action.
Perhaps by this reason, by the mere exaggeration, the referee decided no pitar at all and the VAR neither considered that it went a punishable situation, by what the 'follow, follow' adueñó of the scene in spite of the protests of the local players, as well as of an Aleix Vidal that it did not give credit. And it is that the images leave clear that really there is contact, but here is the referee the one who decides if it is sufficient or no as for pitar penalti.
In this case It Squares Fernández did to sound his whistle, but to punish to the player of the Alavés with yellow card when considering that it had thrown . Seeing the images could be even intelligible the fact that no pitara penalti, but from here to sanction to the player affected when really there was contact...
The room of the VOR gave by good the referee's decision on of the terrain of game, and the game continued as if at all without penalti in favour of the Alavés, and with a yellow card to shoulders for an Aleix Vidal that from then already had to play conditioned during all the party.
Already there was controversial with the VAR and the Madrid in Champions
This same week in Champions League, by the way, fits to remember that during the Madrid-PSG (2-2) gave an action with the VAR that also favoured to the white team, and still with more controversy. The referee signalled penalti favourable to the PSG and expulsion to Courtois but, after the review in the room VOR, the Portuguese Artur Dias decided to signal a previous action in the centre of the field by 'faltita' to Marcelo, cancelling all what had happened afterwards.
Of a possible penalti in favour of the PSG and expulsion of Courtois, therefore, happened to fault in favour of the Real Madrid in the half field. It was or no correct the decision, a thing is clear: the Real Madrid does not have reasons to complain of the referees, and much less of the VAR.
