Real Madrid's crisis in 2024/25 seems to have no end. After the tough defeat against Liverpool, Carlo Ancelotti's men confirmed the loss of one of their stars in midfield
Real Madrid confirmed on Thursday that they have yet to make a significant loss due to injury. This is Eduardo Camavinga, who suffered a muscle injury in the defeat against Liverpool at Anfield (2-0). The Frenchman asked to be substituted in the 55th minute due to a pain in the posterior part of his left thigh, a forced change that opened the door to the Whites' disaster in the second half against the 'reds'.
According to the official 'merengue' medical report, the French international has suffered a fibrillar tear in the femoral biceps of his left leg. With this, Carlo Ancelotti will lose another key player for at least three weeks, this being the second muscle injury suffered by the Cabinda native and the seventh loss in the Madrid squad.
Camavinga had been injured just before the match against Atalanta in the European Super Cup final and now suffers the same problem as Vinicius Jr., who is out after the last international break. In addition, Madrid has Aurélien Tchouaméni, Rodrigo Goes, David Alaba, Éder Militao and Dani Carvajal in the infirmary, the latter two ruled out for the rest of the season.
Ancelotti is left without variants for the midfield
With Tchouaméni and Camavinga 'KO', the Italian coach has no choice but to bet on Dani Ceballos as a pivot. The Spanish player has never had the confidence of 'Carletto', but the lack of variants forces the Reggiolo native to return Fede Valverde to his natural position, returning Lucas Vázquez to right back.
The '17' left many doubts since Carvajal's injury, although on Wednesday he caused a penalty as soon as he entered that Kylian Mbappé was responsible for wasting. To make matters worse, both Bondy and Jude Bellingham also left Anfield with discomfort and are doubtful for Sunday's match against Getafe. Ancelotti will only recover most of his injured players in mid-December, just before the Intercontinental Cup.
