The excessive harassment from Madrid media towards Munuera Montero has led to an investigation by the RFEF into possible private business dealings of the referee. The official has responded and warns of taking measures.

The 'Munuera Montero case' is heating up and spreading. The excessive and relentless harassment from Real Madrid against the referee after the match against Osasuna does not seem to have an expiration date, and after the meeting with the CTA, led by president Medina Cantalejo, the Madrid institution and the media influenced by Florentino Pérez have intensified their pursuit of the referee.

The hunt for the Andalusian referee has reached such a point that the newspaper 'AS' reported on Tuesday morning that he is being investigated by the RFEF due to private business dealings that may not be compatible with refereeing due to a conflict of interest. In fact, the Federation has put him on ice until this issue is resolved.

It is said that the referee owns the company Talentus Sport, which is dedicated to consultancy and sports management and, allegedly, has among its clients institutions like LaLiga, UEFA, RFEF, and some clubs like Atlético de Madrid, Manchester City, Aston Villa, or PSG, a situation that, if true, would be incompatible with the ethical code governing referees and federation officials.

For this reason, the entity led by Rafael Louzán is examining the relationship between Munuera and the company to confirm that the aforementioned ethical code is not being violated. Possible sanctions could range from a fine of up to 100,000 euros to a ban from officiating that could last up to five years. The situation is delicate and is a result of the harassment from Madrid and its 'cave', which has so far managed to keep the referee off the pitch until further notice.

Munuera Montero explodes against the 'media cave'

In light of the savage cornering he has been subjected to after 'breaking the mold' and officiating fairly and not favoring the Madrid team, Munuera Montero has responded and issued a statement through his social media, in which, among other things, he warns that he will take action against those media outlets that have been targeting him since last Saturday.

Below is the message shared by the Andalusian referee:

"In recent months, the excessive attack on the refereeing collective has become evident, with me being the protagonist in this latest instance. The company Talentus Sports Speakers, in which referee José Luis Munuera is a stakeholder, has not billed any amount to any sports entity, whether clubs, federations, or companies in the sports industry since its inception.

This company, which started its activity less than a year ago, aims to allow different athletes to convey the transversal values of sports to various organizations through the narration of their personal experiences, as shown on its website.

The Talentus Sports Recruitment LinkedIn portal serves to add value to potential attendees of the talks, mostly young postgraduates seeking their first professional opportunity, by showcasing the numerous job offers published on this social network. In this way, hundreds of job offers published by the companies or sports organizations themselves have been disseminated, redirecting directly to the LinkedIn profile of each organization.

This has been done in all cases without any compensation from the companies, clubs, or organizations, who have not even been contacted, nor have they received any type of commercial proposal.

Finally, I anticipate that I will exercise the corresponding civil and criminal actions against those media that have intentionally or recklessly spread falsehoods or incorrect or biased information, causing irreparable harm to my professional prestige, personal reputation, and that of the refereeing collective, as well as to my personal privacy and that of third parties".
