Real Madrid will have to face the duel against FC Barcelona and, at least, three more duels without their starting goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, due to an unfortunate injury

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The bad streak of injuries continues for Real Madrid. On this occasion, the Madridistas, through their various social media channels, have confirmed, amidst doubts about whether Rodrygo Goes will make it to the Clásico against Barcelona, a new crucial absence in their starting eleven.

With a brief statement, Real Madrid has confirmed that Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, after undergoing the corresponding tests conducted by the Medical Services of the white team, has been diagnosed with a left leg adductor injury. The Chamartín side has perhaps been cautious in determining the time the '1' will be out, concluding the statement with a succinct "pending evolution."

However, various sources, evaluating the type of injury presented, suggest that Courtois will be out for no less than 2 to 3 weeks. With this in mind, it is clear that he will miss the Clásico against Barcelona next Saturday, October 26. Additionally, he is unlikely to be available for the matches against Valencia CF (11/02) and CA Osasuna (11/09) in LaLiga EA Sports, as well as the match against AC Milan (11/05) corresponding to matchday four of the UEFA Champions League. It is expected that he will return after the November FIFA break, possibly for the match against CD Leganés (11/24).

Courtois had already suffered a setback in the right leg adductor this season

This injury is the second physical setback that Courtois has suffered so far in the 2024-25 season, with the first being the setback he suffered in the right leg adductor after the match against Atlético de Madrid in the previous round eight of LaLiga EA Sports, which kept him out of action for a total of three weeks. Taking this into account, it is clear that the responsibility of defending the Madrid goal against Barcelona in some successive matches will fall to Andriy Lunin, second in command in the Madrid goal.
