The president of Betis, Ángel Haro, has harshly criticized Real Madrid for its unusual statement against the refereeing body
The shameful statement from Real Madrid against the refereeing body has justifiably filled Spanish football with outrage. The tension caused by the Madrid entity, whose unusual letter of complaint to the RFEF and the CSD regarding the referees' performance in the match against Espanyol has triggered many reactions, continues to grow, and Betis has been the latest club to attack the whites.
During the press conference following the presentation of Antony and 'Cucho' Hernández as new Betis players, the president of the institution, Ángel Haro, spoke out about the controversy involving the Madrid team and was firm about it.
"I do not agree with the statement from Real Madrid. It puts unnecessary pressure on the refereeing collective, which they have already been doing with their various videos", began saying the top leader of the Andalusian club.
Haro also took a jab at the RFEF
"I believe there are things to improve, but it must be done through calm dialogue and not in a way that seeks to please the gallery or in a populist manner. I think all of us involved in this activity need to be honest. Those statements do not help," Haro added before the media.
Finally, the president of Betis also left a message for the Royal Spanish Football Federation by stating that "from my point of view, the RFEF has been lukewarm. Betis has very rarely issued statements, except for specific issues. You have to remember that when that has happened, the RFEF has been super firm with Betis."
"I think we need to be a bit more forceful and not allow these kinds of statements to be made lightly because otherwise, we will all ruin football", he concluded.
