The Real Madrid gave start to his turns of pre-season in United States with a defeat in front of the AC Milan in a meeting that had few emotions, and where especially, the merengues remained short in the feelings with his younger players
With a near-full house at Chicago's Soldier Field, Real Madrid made their debut on their preseason tour in the United States in front of almost 62,000 spectators, a duel in which the Whites faced another historic European club, AC Milan. Carlo Ancelotti's team ended up losing 0-1 against the Italian team with several notable absences, such as Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.
Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze scored the decisive goal in the 56th minute and gave the second victory to Milan led by Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, who has been working as a team longer than Madrid and had a few more ideas. Ancelotti relied on the talents of Arda Guler, Endrick and Brahim in attack, but beyond some good connections there was little to write home about for Los Blancos, who were saved in the first half after Thibaut Courtois made two saves against Samuel Chukwueze and Nasti to keep the score at 0-0.
Little that highlight of the quarry madridista
By the second 45 minutes, Endrick, Güler, Modric, Rudiger, Vallejo and Courtois had left the pitch and young players such as Latasa, Nico Paz, Joan Martínez, Palacios and Raúl Asencio came on to form a new defence. The most unfortunate was César Palacios, who had to leave just six minutes later, replaced by Álvaro Rodríguez, although for none of them he was particularly noteworthy, in great contrast to the FC Barcelona youth players, who played a match against Manchester City that was almost like a consolidated player in the European elite.
The goal by the Nigerian Chukwueze came after an error by Brahim and a great anticipation by the striker when Lunin came out, putting the score at 0-1, a result that would end up being decisive. Another Real Madrid youth player, Raúl Asencio, suffered a lot with Chukwueze, although Madrid at least closed the game in a positive way by not allowing any more goals and having a little more play in the last quarter of this time. Fran García had the best chance to equalise in the 86th minute. The full-back entered the area, but his right-footed shot was deflected by the Milan defence.
Madrid's agenda to continue its pre-season
The white club, which welcomed Rodrygo on Wednesday and is expecting Vinicius and Militao on Thursday, will now face Barça in New Jersey next Saturday. It will be the third consecutive pre-season Clásico to be played on American soil, after the two previous victories of the Barça team, also highlighting that Ancelotti's team will complete their tour on Tuesday, facing Chelsea in Charlotte.
