Barça has a rival: The semifinals of the 2023 Spanish Super Cup have been defined

The FC Barcelona 'tieed up' the second square of LaLiga Santander 2021-2022 after empatar this Sunday in front of the Getafe (0-0), confirming his presence in the next edition of the Supercopa of Spain, in which they also will participate the Real Madrid (champion of League), Real Betis (winner of the Glass of Rey) and Valencia (runner-up of the Glass). The 'final four' of the tournament will contest , again, in Saudi Arabia.

The format of the mini tournament does not give space to the speculations and, although they still are missing more than eight months so that it contest the Supercopa of Spain, the crosses of the semifinals already are defined. The champion of League confronts to the runner-up of Glass of Rey, whereas the winner of the tournament 'KO' measures in front of the team that have remained in the second position of the competition liguera.

Like this then , the Real Madrid remained matched with Valencia, as it already happened in the edition of the 2020, whereas the Betis and FC Barcelona will confront in the another key. The two winners will see the faces in the final, by what exists the possibility that there is a Classical to define the winner of the Supercopa... The 'dream' of any competition. It would be, in such a case, the second final of the culés in said tournament and the third of the White House, that only has remained without contesting this party in an edition (2021).

Although they are defined the clashes, still remains for knowing the dates in which it will contest the tournament in Saudi Arabia. It will be in the month of January, as it has happened since the tournament changed of format. The Real Spanish Federation of Football is slope of the calendar, but will be -obviously- after the dispute of the World-wide of Qatar of this winter, in the first or second week of the 2023.

The Barça has not won with the new format

Although the tournament changed of format in 2020, the Barça still has not achieved to do with the title of Supercopa of Spain. Sum two semifinals and a final in the three editions (2020, 2021 and 2022), being the one of the year happened the only in which it could win the trophy, although the Athletic of Bilbao finish carrying it.

The Real Madrid won the others two trophies (2020 and 2021), deleting to Valencia and FC Barcelona in semifinals and winning to the Athletic of Madrid and Athletic of Bilbao, respectively, in the finals. The group trained by Carlo Ancelotti will go back to confront to the picture 'ché' in January.
