Is it worth it? Discover the price that Barça must pay for Ademola Lookman

The management of FC Barcelona is keeping a close eye on the future of Ademola Lookman as one of the viable options for the left winger position. Although the Nigerian is not their main target for the upcoming summer market, as other players like Nico Williams, Luis Díaz, and Rafael Leao are ahead in terms of forwards for that position, the 'star' of Atalanta is one of Deco's favorites if, ultimately, none of the three mentioned players end up arriving in Catalonia this summer.

In this regard, the Bergamasque team has already made it clear to both Barça and other major clubs in Europe the price they must pay for their star. Initially, Atalanta valued Lookman at around 30 million euros, but they have recently increased his price to around 60-65 'million', according to various Italian media reports. In fact, this price could rise even further if other clubs enter the race for his signing and, additionally, the 27-year-old player agrees to renew his contract.

Atalanta's stance on Lookman complicates Barça's options

Ademola is guaranteed at least one more season with Atalanta, with the option to extend the contract for another year, until June 2027. The club's idea is to sign him to a new contract, with a significant salary increase (currently, the forward earns 2.1M € gross), with the aim of adjusting his exit price. In England, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have shown strong interest in the African player, preparing offers even exceeding 70M €.

Given this situation, while Barça is interested in Lookman, their financial situation and the competition from other clubs complicate a possible transfer. Furthermore, the high price demanded by Atalanta could be a significant obstacle for the transfer, as the Blaugrana team does not plan to spend more than 60-70 million on the arrival of a left winger.

Ademola Lookman, an ideal forward for Barça?

The Nigerian, however, could be a very valuable reinforcement for Hansi Flick's team, as he is a player who can play in any attacking position. Lookman would bring speed, dribbling, and striking ability, which would be crucial to improve depth on the Blaugrana flanks. Additionally, his ability to play both on the left and right and move towards the center of the attack would be of great help to the team.

On the other hand, Ademola's incorporation would practically close the doors for Ansu Fati in the squad. The arrival of another left winger forces the player from Bissau to seek an exit from the club, either through a sale or a loan, due to the lack of opportunities.
