Alex Baena is one of the left-wingers on FC Barcelona's radar for the summer of 2025. The Villarreal striker spoke to 'MARCA' about his plans for the future and took the opportunity to be honest about his medium-term plans, leaving the door open to signing for Barça or another big club if, finally, an attractive enough offer arrives.

"I have always said that to leave Villarreal it has to be a better team. And for me that has to be a top 10 team in the world," said the Roquetas de Mar native. Baena has a contract until 2028 and his market value has already reached 50 million euros. In that sense, the 23-year-old player made it clear that, beyond the rumours about his departure, he remains focused on shining with the 'Yellow Submarine'.

"Villarreal is the club of my life and, if one day that offer comes, we will sit down and talk and see what is best for both of us," said Alex. This season, the Spanish international has scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 15 games (1,129 minutes) between the League and the Cup, being one of the undisputed eleven of Marcelino Garcia Toral.

Sergio Camello puts Alex Baena within the reach of Barça

In a chat with 'SPORT' to review his consecration at the Paris Olympic Games, Baena did not refer directly to the possible interest of Barça. However, his teammate at La Roja, Sergio Camello, did dare to put the winger within the reach of the Blaugrana team. "He has the level to go to Barcelona. That is for sure," said the current Rayo Vallecano striker.

The Villarreal player, however, was much more cautious: "I don't know," he said with a wry smile when asked about his chances of wearing the Barça shirt. "What I'm focused on is finishing the season at Villarreal and staying here, because that's where I'm happiest," he added regarding the rumours linked to his departure from El Madrigal next summer.
