Real Betis is very close to negotiating the loan of Stefan Bajcetic. The Spanish midfielder was close to joining FC Barcelona last summer, after the injury of Marc Bernal
An old target of FC Barcelona could land in Sevilla in the coming days, alongside Real Betis. Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the interest of the 'verdiblancos' in Stefan Bajcetic, a Spanish midfielder owned by Liverpool who, since last September, has been playing on loan at RB Salzburg. The 20-year-old player arrived at Anfield Road in 2021 from Celta de Vigo, but only played 22 matches (1 goal) with the first team.
Last summer, Arne Slot informed him that he was part of his plans, and the Austrian team appeared in the final stretch of the summer market. However, Bajcetic has not counted much for coach Thomas Letsch (he has played 890 minutes in 18 matches, 8 as a starter) and is set to return to Spain with a Betis team that is currently ninth in LaLiga with 25 points.

Bajcetic could return to LaLiga after his failed signing with Barça
The player from Vigo was very close to Barça in the final stretch of the last summer market. The culés asked Liverpool for his loan for a year after confirming the serious injury of Marc Bernal. However, the 4 million euros net that the 'reds' asked for Bajcetic was too high a price for a Barcelona team that was still exceeding its salary cap.
In fact, Barça was only able to register Iñigo Martínez, Dani Olmo, and Pau Víctor thanks to the injuries of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen, respectively. Hence arose the 'soap opera' that has left the midfielder and the forward without a federation license. Finally, the 20-year-old midfielder resolved his move to Salzburg, where he has played much less than he expected. Now, Betis appears in his path to help him regain confidence, an operation that would already have the 'ok' from Liverpool and Salzburg itself.
