Two weeks ago, many thought that Nico Williams' signing for FC Barcelona was imminent. However, reality has changed and everything indicates that the arrival of the Athletic Club attacker to Barcelona is increasingly distant. At this moment, the Barça team's sporting director, Deco, is waiting for the definitive response from the 22-year-old player and his representative.

In turn, from Bilbao they are very convinced that the forward will not leave San Mamés. Recently, in a statement, the team's coach, Ernesto Valverde, spoke about the Navarrese's future: "I am as calm as before. The market will close on August 31 and there is still a month left," commented the coach.

The coach explained that he is not only looking out for the 'Roja' player: "I'm not just referring to Nico, but we can also improve our team," said Viandar de la Vera. Immediately afterwards, the ex-footballer stated that he could not let media reports focus his agenda: "We will see what happens, because every day something new appears in the press, but we must not let these things affect us," added the Extremadura native.

Barcelona focuses on the signing Dani Olmo

Given the lack of response from the youngest Williams, FC Barcelona do not want to waste time and are waiting to sign Dani Olmo. Until now, the Barça institution has made two offers to the Germans, but they have not reached a definitive agreement. The latest proposal could reach 50 million fixed euros, with another 10 million with variables. However, the Germans want a fixed 60 million for the transfer of the 26-year-old player. The culés, despite everything, hope to finalize the negotiation to keep one of the outstanding profiles of Euro 2024.
