Rafael Leão is being considered as a player to sign from Saudi Arabia, it is even said that one of the clubs is willing to make a 'dizziness' offer for him in this winter market
Since the last summer transfer window, a significant number of names have been linked to FC Barcelona with the aim of reinforcing a specific position: the left winger. A position where Nico Williams from Athletic Club seemed to be the favorite to become the team's stellar reinforcement. However, he was not the only option considered by the club's sports management to provide greater depth to an area that has been significantly strengthened during the 2024-25 season by Raphinha.
Nevertheless, it is a reality that FC Barcelona is monitoring various alternatives associated with a natural left winger, with characteristics that can make the most of that left side. Although Raphinha is delivering stellar performances, he is not a player accustomed to playing in that position, but rather tends to explore more centralized positions, where he has shown to be more dangerous.
Therefore, the Catalan club is keeping an eye on possible market options for 'top' left wingers. At one point, it was mentioned that one of the names under consideration by the club's management was that of the Portuguese forward from AC Milan, Rafael Leão, an athletically appealing option whose release clause made him prohibitively expensive.
However, in the potential attempt by FC Barcelona to secure the services of the Almada native, other challenges beyond the economic aspect could arise. It is worth remembering that Leão has attracted the interest of several teams around the world, some of which could make an offer for him even during this winter transfer window.
Al-Nassr is interested in signing Rafael Leão
According to reports from the French outlet 'L'Équipe,' one of the most active clubs in this winter transfer market, Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia, is considering the addition of Rafael Leão. This situation appears to be driven by the coach of the Arab team, Stefano Pioli, who previously coached AC Milan and had the opportunity to work with the Portuguese player in the 'Rossoneri' squad.
It is stated from the aforementioned source that the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) has directly contacted the management of AC Milan to explore the feasibility of a transfer of Leão for a sum around 100 million euros. However, apparently, the Arab club has encountered a 'Milanese wall,' as the Italians do not wish to sell a forward who is under contract with them until June 30, 2028.
AC Milan seemingly is only willing to let Leão leave through his release clause, which amounts to around 175 million euros. This figure may have dissuaded PIF from making a move for the Portuguese player in this winter transfer market.
