The FC Barcelona board has reportedly defined its roadmap with Alejandro Balde. The defender will hit the market next summer, with an exit price affordable for the big clubs in Europe.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Alejandro Balde's future could take an unexpected turn next summer. The 21-year-old player will cease to be undisputed on the left flank for FC Barcelona in the 2025-26 season, and if a good offer comes in the summer market, the club will give the green light for his departure. The full-back has a contract until 2028 and a release clause of 1 billion euros, as established in the contract extension signed in September 2023.

However, recent information indicates Barcelona's intention to accept a figure close to 55-60 'million' next summer for Álex. The board and coaching staff see the '3' as a long-term asset, but his drop in performance in the final stretch of 2024 made it clear that there is a need to at least sign another player capable of competing for his position, something that Gerard Martín is clearly not in a position to achieve. Balde has recorded 5 assists this season in 23 matches, four of which were as a substitute (1,745 minutes).

PSG Will Go for Balde Next Summer

For now, the most interested club in the Barcelona academy player is Paris Saint-Germain. A few days ago, 'Relevo' leaked the French club's interest in the '3' culé to replace Nuno Mendes, who has not convinced Luis Enrique. The Asturian coach has pointed out Balde, and the club could easily pay the price set by Barcelona. Currently, the Catalan defender is valued at around 50 million euros on Transfermarkt.

Regardless of whether Álex ends up leaving next summer, Deco has been 'scouting' the market for several weeks in search of a left-back. Caio Henrique (Monaco) is one of the preferred alternatives for the culé sporting director, as the name that most convinces Hansi Flick (Alphonso Davies) is practically ruled out due to his extremely high salary demands. The Canadian is, in fact, close to finalizing his renewal with Bayern Munich, despite the interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
