Lucas Chevalier is the target of Barça and Madrid. Both clubs want to strengthen their goalkeeping positions and the Frenchman is among their candidates
Beyond the consecrating performances of Iñaki Peña during FC Barcelona's big week, the Barça sports management considers it necessary to bring in a reinforcement for the next season in goal given the doubts about the future of the Alicante native and the physical condition of Marc-André Ter Stegen after his injury. Several candidates are on the Barça agenda and Lucas Chevalier would be the latest to join the list.
According to 'Relevo', the Lille goalkeeper is very popular at Can Barça, where several profiles are closely followed. The Catalans' favourite is Diogo Costa, but the high price of his operation (it would exceed 45 million euros) and the presence of Manchester City in the 'race' complicate his signing, since the 'skyblues' are willing to 'throw the house out the window' to get his services next summer.
Lucas Chevalier, the revelation of the Champions League
For this reason, the Blaugranas continue to 'comb' the market and Chevalier appears as a more than attractive option. At 22 years old, the goalkeeper is one of the stars of Lille in Ligue 1 and has had great performances in the Champions League, where, for example, he kept a clean sheet against Real Madrid.
His transfer would be around 20 million euros and the club's scouts are not losing track of him, although the Merengue entity would also be on his trail. However, Barça would have the 'trump card' of the player's agent in its favour, since in his day he was in charge of closing the signing of Lucas Digne. Thus, the culés would have an advantage in the new 'Clásico' that is coming up in the offices.
