Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is reportedly close to renewing his contract with Napoli. The player has reportedly made a move closer to the club and his signing is a matter of time

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona's plans are close to receiving a setback that, until a few days ago, seemed far away. The Barça sports management would have as a priority the arrival of a left winger to reinforce the forward line for next season, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia appeared as one of the club's top candidates to shore up the position.

The Georgian's contract with Napoli expires in 2027 and negotiations for its renewal had been stalled since last summer after the striker rejected the club's first offer. The relationship between the player and the institution became tense since then and everything pointed to the fact that Diego Armando Maradona would look for an exit for him at the end of the season.

'Kvara', close to renewing his contract

However, in the last few hours there has been a radical turn of events. According to 'Corriere dello Sport', a couple of days ago conversations between both parties have resumed and the positions are said to be getting closer.

The Partonopei and Kvaratskhelia are reportedly close to agreeing new contract terms, which would include a significant pay rise, bonuses and a buyout clause. The Georgian star would extend his contract until 2029 and would earn 5.5 million euros per season plus another 1.5 million in bonuses for each year, thus moving away his possible landing in Barcelona.
