FC Barcelona could be losing the option of signing Adrién Rabiot, why? Due to Liverpool's entry on the scene and their desire to take the Frenchman this summer, which could tip the balance in favor of the English. Will the Frenchman agree to take on a new adventure at Anfield?
One of the major challenges for FC Barcelona at the start of the 2024/25 summer transfer window was to secure the services of a high-level central midfielder. However, as the days went by, this goal was pushed into the background, primarily due to the increasing need for a top-level left winger. As determined by the Barça sporting department, once all players are recovered, there will be a wealth of options in the squad to strengthen that area of the field.
As a result, any potential central midfielder linked to the Blaugrana squad seems to have been put on hold. One of them, possibly the most prominent option, was the controversial Adrien Rabiot, who came close to joining Barcelona in the past (but didn't due to a series of controversial reasons) and who became one of the most sought-after free agents from July 1 this year after not renewing his contract with Juventus.

However, this option seems to be dwindling in the market if FC Barcelona decides to make a last-minute move. Why? As suggested by 'L'Equipe', apparently Liverpool has made the Frenchman a top priority to bolster their midfield, after being turned down by players like Martin Zubimendi, considering the need to bring experience to a very young central area with players like Curtis Jones (23), Ryan Gravenberch (22), Harvey Elliot (21), Stefan Bajcetic (19), among others.
At this point, we can only wait and see what decision the talented midfielder will make. It's important to note that, in addition to the interest from Barcelona and now Liverpool, there are other clubs closely monitoring Adrien Rabiot's situation. Perhaps AC Milan has an advantage in this scenario, as it seems that the Saint-Maurice native is very comfortable in Italy.
However, it can't be ruled out that, as mentioned by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Frenchman apparently dreams of playing in the Premier League. This would give Liverpool a significant edge, especially since the other English club that was pursuing the '14' from 'Les Bleus,' Manchester United, seems to have withdrawn from the race and is now more interested in securing the services of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
