Darwin Núñez attracts several clubs: Barça, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest in the race.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The chances of Darwin Núñez leaving Anfield Road once the current season ends are considerably high. Arne Slot has not found a place for him in his system and hopes to let him go to bring in a couple of reinforcements that fit his scheme. A situation that could be taken advantage of by FC Barcelona, who are keeping an eye on the Uruguayan.

The elimination of Liverpool from the UEFA Champions League seemed to be the definitive sentence for the Uruguayan with the 'reds'. The forward missed the second penalty in the shootout against PSG, having come on for Diogo Jota in the second half. The save made by Gianluigi Donnarumma was yet another failure in a season to forget for the Uruguayan, who, despite having a contract until 2028, knows he will not count for the coach next season.

In this regard, various rumors point to Spotify Camp Nou as a possible destination for the South American next season. The 25-year-old player, aware of his situation within the club, has already expressed to his agent his desire to change scenery next summer and his main goal would be to join Hansi Flick's ranks, even lowering his salary if necessary to facilitate his arrival in the Catalan city.

Two Premier League clubs will attempt to sign him

However, if they finally decide to go for his signing, at Can Barça they will have to win the battle against two Premier League teams. According to 'TEAMtalk', both Nottingham Forest and Newcastle are tracking Darwin and are preparing respective bids to try to sign him during the summer window.

Although, in principle, the project of the azulgrana entity is considerably more attractive and exciting than that of both British clubs, the opportunity to have a leading role in either of the two teams, which have been two of the revelations of the league this season, could play a key factor in the forward's final decision, who, on paper, would play a secondary role in the Catalan team.

For now, at Can Barça, they have not made a move for the Uruguayan as their focus would be on other priority alternatives such as Luis Díaz, Alexander Isak or Viktor Gyökeres. However, Núñez's name remains on the sports management's table and an offensive at the end of the season is not ruled out, although the competition is fierce and the culés, despite having an advantage in the bidding, will need to accelerate their options.
