The option of Jhon Durán for Barça's attack is ruled out. Unai Emery, coach of Aston Villa, assured that he will continue to count on the Colombian in his team
Jhon Durán is one of the trending forwards this season. The 21-year-old Colombian has established himself as one of the revelations of the Premier League with Aston Villa, and several teams across the continent, and even outside of it, are after him and have threatened to launch an offensive for his signing during this January.
FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al-Nassr, among others, are some of the clubs that have the South American on their radar, but the Villans do not intend to part with one of their stars, at least until the end of the season. This was made clear by their coach, Unai Emery, after his team's draw against West Ham last Sunday.
Aston Villa closes the door on Durán's departure
"Some circumstances, of course, do not help us concentrate 100 percent. Jhon Durán is our player and I want him here", declared a visibly upset Emery, who in addition to hinting that the rumors about his future have unsettled Durán, closed the door on his departure in this winter transfer market.
Thus, Barça receives another setback in their planning for the center of the attack. The Catalans held a meeting with the Colombian's agents last December to learn about the conditions of a possible operation, but it will have to be postponed, in principle, until summer due to the Villans' stance.
Moreover, his transfer will not be cheap at all, as the Birmingham club recently renewed his contract until 2030 and have valued his sale at a figure close to 100 million euros. With this in mind, it seems that the Catalans will have to shift their focus to a new target for the attack in light of the numerous obstacles present in negotiations for the South American.
