The future of Ferran Torres remains a complicated issue for the FC Barcelona management. Although the 'Shark' has proven to be a very effective game-changer, the club does not rule out his sale.
Ferran Torres has regained prominence at FC Barcelona after the injury suffered against Alavés. After a slow start to the season, the player from Foiós has managed to score in his last three matches, including a brace against Borussia Dortmund. The '7' has reasserted himself as the best substitute for Hansi Flick, but the management has other plans for the future.
Moreover, beyond the importance of the 'Shark's' offensive contribution, the club understands that the 24-year-old forward is one of the dispensable players who could yield the best financial returns through a transfer. Barça paid 55 million euros for his transfer in 2021 and hopes to recover at least half of that amount in 2025. However, this scenario is unfeasible for the upcoming winter market.
Barça Defines When They Will Sell Ferran Torres
Before his injury, Ferran looked like one of the fixed discards for Flick in January. The Valencian had only scored one goal against Valladolid and provided a couple of assists, despite having several opportunities entering the azulgrana XI. After coming out of the infirmary, Ferran has returned to being the substitute for Lewandowski that the coaching staff expects: engaged and precise in finishing to make a difference.
Therefore, Barça's plan aims to make the most of the '7's good form in the coming months, a determining factor to increase his market value. Torres is currently valued at around 30 'million' on Transfermarkt and Barça would give the green light to his departure in the summer for a sum close. The Premier League looks like the most probable destination for the Spanish international, as long as the player is willing to negotiate his transfer, since he still has three more years on his contract and a buyout clause of 1,000M€.
