FC Barcelona, in case they want to opt for the signing of Jonathan Tah, would have the way paved for it. Why? We tell you in FCBN
The signing of Jonathan Tah by FC Barcelona has become one of the topics that has generated the most debate in recent days. Initially, his incorporation seemed to generate consensus, as his contract ends on June 30 and not renewing, he could arrive as a free agent, thus avoiding the payment of a transfer fee. Additionally, he is a player who apparently is favored by Hansi Flick and shows a good sporting level.
However, there seems to be a dilemma regarding the signing of Jonathan Tah, as it is being considered that there is a significant number of quality defenders in the Barcelona team, five to be exact: Pau Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez, Ronald Araujo, Eric García, and Andreas Christensen. Therefore, given that there may be other positions that take priority, it would not be surprising if the addition of the defender is not completely ruled out, but rather put on hold.
Bayern Munich Steps Back from the 'Race' for Jonathan Tah
Fortunately, for FC Barcelona, if the situation is clarified and they decide to go for the signing of Jonathan Tah, they seemingly would have a clear path, as their main competitor in acquiring this imposing 29-year-old defender, Bayern Munich, has decided to step back from the competition for his signing. This was revealed by the sporting director of the Munich team, Christoph Freund, in statements to the German newspaper 'BILD'.
"The name of Tah is not currently on our minds. Our defense is at a high level and it is not something that is on Bayern's table for the next season," stated Freund, making it clear that the reason for the doubt surrounding the signing of Jonathan Tah is the same reason why FC Barcelona would keep the incorporation of the German defender on hold, already having four active players in their squad: Dayot Upamecano, Min-jae Kim, Eric Dier, and Hiroki Ito.

At this point, it will be interesting to see what happens with Jonathan Tah, with the interest of his main suitors, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich, which seems to be wavering. It will need to be assessed whether the desire of another team that wants to sign him emerges and ultimately takes him, or if in a significant turn of events he ends up renewing with Bayer Leverkusen, a complicated scenario, but one that cannot be completely ruled out.
