FC Barcelona apparently would not take a dim view of incorporating Marcus Rashford and would even have offered Manchester United a trade for the player. Who would they send to Old Trafford?
The name of Marcus Rashford apparently is gaining more prominence than initially anticipated. The future of the 27-year-old English left winger seems to be moving away from Manchester United, and LaLiga could be a tempting destination for him, especially in a team like Barcelona, which is looking to incorporate a top-level left winger in the upcoming summer market. The Mancunian has shown that he has the potential to be that player if he focuses solely on his football performance.
At this point, recently, the English media outlet 'TEAMTalk' has disclosed information suggesting that Barcelona is in talks to acquire Rashford's services, which would solve a 'problem' they have been facing lately with a particular player: Ansu Fati.
According to this source, Barcelona would be interested in sending Ansu Fati to Manchester in exchange for Marcus Rashford in a swap they would try to carry out in the upcoming winter market. Additionally, it is said that this negotiation has the approval of Hansi Flick, and Deco is already working to finalize an agreement with the 'Red Devils'.
This swap could be beneficial for both clubs
It is believed that this exchange would be fruitful for both teams. Barcelona would receive a versatile player who can perform as a left winger, center forward, and right winger, and could adapt to the team's style, complementing players like Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski, providing depth to the Cule's attacking line.
On the other hand, it would be positive for Ansu Fati, who would have the opportunity to change scenery to a top-level club and increase his playing minutes to regain confidence and showcase his best version under a coach like Rubén Amorim, a specialist in enhancing young players.
Would this Barcelona-United negotiation be viable?
The outcome of these negotiations is yet to be seen, as this swap presents its complexities. Both players have different market values, with Rashford being considerably more expensive (€55M compared to €15M for Ansu Fati). Therefore, it will be crucial to ensure that the agreement satisfies both parties, as a direct transfer could prove challenging, considering that a value of €45M is estimated for Marcus according to English media.
Similarly, negotiations between the clubs will be necessary, and it will be essential to assess if the player would be willing to make concessions regarding his salary, as his demands may not easily fit into Barcelona's salary structure.
