Amid the 'soap opera' over the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, FC Barcelona has returned to the 1:1 rule and Hansi Flick does not want to miss the opportunity to sign another striker in January

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona reached 76 goals scored in just 26 matches this season after the victory against UD Barbastro, but Hansi Flick is not entirely satisfied with the attacking options available in the azulgrana squad. With Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal injured, along with the mess regarding the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, the team has only three attackers available for the semifinal of the Spanish Supercup, awaiting Lamine's medical clearance.

In this regard, the German coach has already made it clear to the board his desire to incorporate another striker in the winter market, taking advantage of the club's return to the 1:1 rule. Barça now has the freedom to invest every euro earned from any signing or 'lever' into reinforcements and there are several names that the coaching staff and the board have in mind as possible replacements for Robert Lewandowski, who, fortunately, maintains spectacular records this season (25 goals in 25 matches).

Strikers who could arrive at Barça in January

Initially, there are three names with very good chances of joining the club this month. One of them is Randal Kolo Muani, who Luis Enrique has already 'sentenced' at Paris Saint-Germain. The French are hoping to find him a team as soon as possible, as his market value has plummeted during 2024. A loan would be quite feasible for both clubs, as long as PSG assumes a majority percentage of the Frenchman's salary.

In recent days, the name of Eliesse Ben Seghir, a Moroccan winger who has had a great first half of the season with Monaco, has also been mentioned. The striker has 7 goals and 4 assists in 23 matches, but the Principality team has no intention of letting him go for an offer lower than 35-40 'million'. More financially feasible would be the option of Jonathan David (contract ends in June), although the interest from Barça in the Canadian has cooled significantly in recent weeks. His numbers are very good (17 goals in 27 matches), but Flick is looking for another profile, with more mobility inside and outside the area.
