Barça could go for one of Sevilla's central defenders in 2025

The FC Barcelona board remains attentive to the future of Loïc Badé. The Sevilla center back was recently called up by Didier Deschamps to the French national team

The good moment of Loïc Badé has aroused the interest of several greats in Europe. The last to look at the Sevilla center-back as a possible reinforcement for the summer of 2025 is FC Barcelona, as long as the Barça board decides to dispense with at least two of its personnel for this position.

In principle, names like Eric García and Andreas Christensen seem to have their months numbered at the club, a factor that will lead Hansi Flick to demand the incorporation of another defender, preferably young. At 24 years old, Badé has already been called up by the French national team thanks to his good start to the season with the Andalusians.

Likewise, Barça is still not clear about the continuity of Ronald Araújo, one of the footballers who can leave the most money in the culés' coffers if he finally decides to leave. These movements would give the Barça team enough margin to go after Loïc, considering Sevilla's market aspirations with the Frenchman.

Sevilla puts a price on Badé, anticipating his departure next summer

Although the defender has a contract until June 2029, there is already talk in Seville of a transfer next summer through which the Seville team will try to obtain the greatest possible benefit. In the last summer market, the Andalusian team was willing to negotiate for around 25-30 million euros, considering that the defender's current value is 20 'kilos' on Transfermarkt.

However, the latest information on Badé points to a price close to €40M, as long as the 24-year-old footballer manages to stay healthy throughout the season. The one from Sèvres suffered an injury to his left soleus against Espanyol and will be out for around two weeks, this being his second physical setback of 2024/25 (he had missed the duel against Getafe due to a problem in his right thigh).

So far, the center back has played 9 League games (740 minutes), 8 of them as a starter for Francisco García Pimienta's team. In addition to Barça, Liverpool are also very attentive to the Frenchman's future, as is Roma, a club that already had him on their radar before the defender decided to renew with Sevilla. The people from Seville paid €12M to Rennes for his signing in 2023.
