The poor performances of Héctor Fort and Gerard Martín on the wings of FC Barcelona have awakened the need in the club to reinforce both positions for next season. Hansi Flick wants to have a couple of reliable replacements for Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde on both wings, so the sporting management is already analysing different alternatives in the market.
While names such as Devyne Rensch or Marc Pubill appear on the right flank, on the left Alphonso Davies would be the club's favourite. However, the complexity of his operation forces the Catalans to look for other more accessible options to shore up the position, and an old acquaintance has reportedly offered his services to the Catalan club to land in Barcelona in the summer.
Sergio Reguilón, Barça's possible 'dark horse' for the defence
According to 'El Nacional.cat', Sergio Reguilón has reportedly knocked on Can Barça's doors to let them know of his desire to return to LaLiga. The defender is going through a difficult time at Tottenham, where he has lost his place in Ange Postecoglou's team. His contract expires at the end of the season and those close to him have already begun to pull strings to secure an exit, even in winter.
The footballer was sounded out in the past by the Blaugranas, but the situation did not go beyond mere interest. In this new scenario, the Catalans would not consider signing him either since they would have other priorities, although as he is a reinforcement that could join as a free agent, they do not rule out activating a possible operation.
Meanwhile, clubs such as Sevilla, Getafe and Real Sociedad also appear as alternatives for the full-back, who at 27 years old could be an interesting option to shore up the left side of the rearguard of one of these teams at zero cost.
