According to the mentioned source, it is expected that Barcelona will extend Gerard Martin's contract for three additional seasons, until 2028, with a release clause of around €100 million. He will maintain his registration with the reserve team for the remainder of this season but will need to change his status in the next period (2025-26) due to regulations from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Typically, when playing in a La Liga team, upon turning 23 years old, players must be registered with the first team, except for goalkeepers, whose age limit is 25. The player from Esplugues de Llobregat will turn 23 on February 26.
