Barcelona is not alone: the battle for Marcus Rashford intensifies

The case of Marcus Rashford is one of the most captivating stories of the winter transfer market. The Englishman's situation at Manchester United is untenable and his departure from the club is a matter of days, although his next destination is still unclear.

Teams like Tottenham and West Ham have explored the signing of Rashford, but it would be Milan and Borussia Dortmund who are the main rivals of Barcelona in the race. In fact, the latter have reportedly taken an important step towards a possible agreement with the player, as according to 'Sky Sports', the club's sports director, Sebastian Kehl, has met with the Englishman's agents to express their intentions.

Meanwhile, the 'rossoneri' team continues to lead the bidding for the Mancunian and is accelerating to close the deal with United. The idea of the Italians is to incorporate him through a loan with an option to buy, and the attacker would like to try his luck in Serie A and form a lethal trio alongside Rafael Leao and Álvaro Morata.

In the Catalan city, meanwhile, they are staying on the sidelines and carefully analyzing their alternatives. The Catalans do not rule out making a 'splash' this January with the signing of an established star like Alexander Isak, but if an operation of this caliber becomes unfeasible, the option of Rashford would gain significant traction.
