FC Barcelona and Real Madrid continue to stalk Jamal Musiala. The Bayern Munich winger has been misleading about his future, but everything could be decided in January
Jamal Musiala keeps the Bayern Munich board in suspense about his future. The 21-year-old winger, one of the 'cracks' in the orbit of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid for the next summer market, made it clear before the duels with the German team against Bosnia and Hungary when he believes he can define his future.
"Right now I am focused on the matches with the national team and with Bayern. I know that there are many people paying attention to my situation, but I try to put as little pressure on myself as possible," he began by saying in an interview for local radio station 'RND'.
"For me it is important to stay in shape and perform at my best until I have some time to relax. Then I will be able to think about everything. I think we will know more during the winter holidays," said the 21-year-old winger when referring to his future.
Bayern will try to retain Musiala with a 'top' salary
Jamal has a contract with Bayern until June 2026 and, if he refuses to renew, the Bavarians will be forced to do without their star for a reduced price. At the moment, the striker is listed for around 130 million euros on Transfermarkt, so any offer below 100 million euros would be a failure for the Munich team.
In that sense, the latest information from Germany ensures that the Bayern board would be willing to offer Musiala a contract for at least five seasons in which he would bill around €23M net per year. Likewise, Manchester City would also be in a position to offer him a similar contract.
Harry Kane continues to be the highest paid player in the Bavarian squad, with emoluments that reach 25 kilos per season. For Barça and Madrid, this offer would be very difficult to match, since both have other market priorities for 2025 and the signing of the Stuttgart player would be very difficult to fit, especially for the Catalans.
