FC Barcelona is very close to finalizing the loan of Pau Víctor to Betis. The Catalan forward has been on the radar of the 'verdiblanco' team for several weeks.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Pau Víctor may be living his last hours as a player for FC Barcelona in the 2024-25 season. The latest reports indicate the imminent departure of the 23-year-old forward to Real Betis, precisely the last opponent against whom the '18' azulgrana had minutes. The player from San Cugat del Vallés came on in the 72nd minute for Pedri, just before the fifth goal of Barça, scored by Lamine Yamal (5-1).

Pau had some clear opportunities before the end, but goalkeeper Vieites prevented the azulgrana rout from being even more overwhelming. Betis has been attentive to the forward's future for several weeks, although rumors about his signing cooled during the weeks that the player, like Dani Olmo, was out of the culé squad due to provisions from LaLiga and the RFEF.

After the precautionary measure granted by the Superior Sports Council (CSD), the forward regained his federative license and Barça the right to use his registration freely. Víctor is under contract until June 2029 and all signs point to him going on loan for six months in a simple loan, without an option to buy. Barcelona hopes to increase the player's value, who is currently valued at around 5 million euros on Transfermarkt.

Pau Víctor will seek to form a lethal duo with Vitor Roque

For Manuel Pellegrini, the goal is clear: to pair Pau Víctor with Vitor Roque to form a lethal duo that allows the 'verdiblancos' to solve their problems in finishing. The team closed the first half of LaLiga with only 21 goals in favor and, in the case of 'Tigrinho', he has only managed to score 4 goals in 16 appearances in the tournament. Much better are the numbers of the '18' culé, who despite having played only 187 minutes in the first half has scored a couple of goals and provided an assist.

In that sense, the player from San Cugat del Vallés understands that, given the tough competition for a spot in the culé attack, it is practically impossible for him to accumulate quality minutes in Barcelona during the second half of the season. Hansi Flick trusts the Spanish forward, but Ferran Torres is the first alternative to Robert Lewandowski. Therefore, like Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre, and Eric García, he is set to leave for at least six months. Additionally, these operations could allow the azulgrana team to pursue another winger, as long as enough money comes into the club.
