Manchester United Willing to Break the Market for Francisco Trincão

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona is increasingly rubbing its hands over a specific name: Francisco Trincão. And how could it not? The right winger is having his best season as a player for Sporting CP, as this 2024-25 season, the player from Viana do Castelo has scored nine goals and provided 15 assists in 43 matches, positioning himself as one of the most interesting forwards in Portuguese football.

This is particularly striking for FC Barcelona, because the Catalan team holds 50% of the economic rights over Trincão. This means that if Sporting CP transfers the winger soon, the Catalan club will receive half of the amount that the Portuguese receive for the '17', which could translate into a truly substantial financial amount for a Barcelona team that already obtained around €10 million for the Portuguese (7 'kilos' for his transfer and the other three for his previous loan before the transfer was made).

Now, new information has emerged from England indicating that there is a serious contender for Trincão in the UK and that the amount they are willing to spend will be big news for Barcelona.

Manchester United Wants to Make an Offer for Francisco Trincão

According to reports from 'The Sun', the Manchester United, managed by Rúben Amorim, who already knows the forward from his time at Sporting CP, would be willing, in an atypical market move, to pay a price above the player's release clause to secure his services. It should be noted that Trincão has a release clause of approximately €58 million.

However, it is rumored that the 'Red Devils' would be willing to spend around €85 million for Trincão. An extravagant amount that does not arise from coincidence, as it has been mentioned that the 'Lions' wish to receive a minimum of 42 'kilos' for the Portuguese winger, an amount they would obtain if the transfer is finalized at those €85 million.

On the other hand, FC Barcelona would also receive a considerable amount from this transaction, estimated at around €42 million. A sum that would undoubtedly be an important financial injection for the Catalan team and key to strengthening its financial capacity to face new signings.
