TRANSFERS: Barça targets Givairo Read as a possible replacement for Jules Koundé

FC Barcelona does not rule out signing another full-back in the upcoming summer market. Although the confidence in Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde is total, the board and coaching staff do not see Gerard Martín and, especially, Héctor Fort as clear alternatives for the flanks in case one of the starters suffers a physical setback.

The latest name on the culé radar regarding full-backs is none other than Givairo Read, who has shone in his first season with Feyenoord. This season, the Amsterdam native has 1 goal and 7 assists in 27 matches (1,934 minutes) with Robin van Persie's team. According to 'SPORT', the 18-year-old defender has caught Deco's attention due to his ability to break through, good footwork, and versatility, as he can play comfortably on the opposite side.

For now, his market value is 4 million euros, but considering the length of his contract (he signed until 2029), it is likely that Feyenoord will ask for a minimum of 10 'million' to let him go. In his first season in the European elite, the Surinamese-born player has become one of the best wing-backs in the Eredivisie, and his performance has not gone unnoticed in Europe.

And the '26' was able to play three Champions League matches as a starter (he was sent off in the return leg of the 'Playoff' against Milan), and one of the Premier League giants already has him on their radar.
