Barça does not give up on the dream of Alexander Isak. However, the high price of his transfer leaves Liverpool and Arsenal as favorites in the race for his signing

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The future of Alexander Isak is one of the big questions of the upcoming transfer market. The 22 goals scored by the Swede in 31 matches have made him one of the best center forwards currently, so several of the top clubs in Europe will try to sign him at the end of the season.

One of these teams would be FC Barcelona, where they consider the Nordic player to be the ideal candidate to take over from Robert Lewandowski at the forefront of the attack. Both Joan Laporta and the sports management, led by Deco, are 'in love' with the scorer and believe that his profile would fit perfectly in the team, so they dream of being able to finalize his arrival in the Catalan city to replace the Pole.

However, his transfer poses a significant 'headache' not only for the culés but also for those interested in signing him. Newcastle is reluctant to part with their star player, and their CEO, Darren Eales, revealed a few days ago that "we are not looking to sell any player," so they will not make it easy when negotiating for the footballer.

The price of Isak complicates Barça

In this sense, the portal 'Football Insider' reported that the 'magpies' will not yield in their demands and will require a figure close to 180 million euros to agree to transfer Isak. An amount practically unreachable for any club in the world, although both Liverpool and Arsenal could afford to pay it.

The 'gunners', severely punished by injuries in the forward line this season, are looking for a '9' and the Swede is very high on their list of potential signings, while the 'reds' have made him their top priority for the upcoming season as Arne Slot believes he would be the perfect reinforcement for their squad.

For that reason, despite the high asking price for the forward, both institutions would be willing to make a financial effort to secure the services of one of the trendiest footballers in the Premier League, thus complicating the options for a Barça that would not be in a position to make such an outlay despite having returned to the 1:1 rule last winter.

The Newcastle, for its part, plans to offer Isak a record contract to tie his future long-term, but if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, the chances of the player leaving St. James' Park will increase exponentially. The 'soap opera' continues, and at Spotify Camp Nou they are waiting in the shadows for the ideal moment to attack the signing of their great desire for the forward position.
