Bayern Munich have reportedly beaten Real Madrid to the punch in the bid for Florian Wirtz. The Bavarians are already negotiating with his entourage and see his signing closer
The 'race' for Florian Wirtz promises to be one of the most exciting in recent years. While FC Barcelona waits in the shadows for its chance, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are actively fighting to secure the services of one of the most coveted figures of the next transfer market.
Although, at first, the Merengues seemed to be the main candidates in the 'bid' for the player due to the possible signing of Xabi Alonso for next season, the Allianz Arena has reportedly stepped up the accelerator in recent weeks to get ahead of the Whites in the operation and has succeeded.
According to what was reported by the newspaper 'BILD', the Bavarians would lead the auction for Wirtz after a strategy of months with several meetings in between. The Munich side have been getting closer to the midfielder and have even invited his father on several occasions to listen to their sporting project and they believe that they can win this fight for the player, being willing to pay more than 100 million euros for his transfer.
The factor that would bring Wirtz closer to Bayern... and the big 'obstacle' of the operation
Bayern considers Florian to be a strategic signing and has him at the top of their list of priorities. The German team will not skimp on expenses and will offer the player a long-term contract, convinced that the renewal of Jamal Musiala, a great friend of the midfielder, will be a determining factor in tipping the balance in their favour.
However, the biggest obstacle that the Munich side will have to overcome to bring the deal to a successful conclusion is Bayer Leverkusen's desire to sell Wirtz to a club outside the Bundesliga and not reinforce a direct rival in the league championship, although it will be the player who will have the final say on the next step in his career.
For its part, Madrid has lost ground in the signing of Wirtz because they have not finished moving for the player, although the possible arrival of Xabi Alonso could help in attracting the player. However, Bayern have done their homework in this time and in Germany they consider that the whites are late to the operation, so everything points to Florian's future being at the Allianz Arena.
