Borussia Dortmund could go for a forward from FC Barcelona next summer. Recent reports indicate the Germans' interest in the loan of Ansu Fati

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Ansu Fati will stay at FC Barcelona until the end of the 2024/25 season. Despite his limited role in the first six months of the season and the tough competition for a spot in Hansi Flick's starting eleven, the '10' preferred to remain in Catalonia, as none of the offers that came for him during the winter transfer market convinced him. Despite his poor season, several clubs are keeping an eye on the future of the Spanish international.

One of them, surprisingly, could be Borussia Dortmund. Recent reports indicate the German team's interest in the '10' from Barcelona, one of the fixed discards of Barça for the 25/26 season. Ansu has a contract until 2027 and a salary of around 15 million euros gross per year, a determining factor to halt his departure. However, Nico Kovac's team does not rule out negotiating for his loan next summer. In recent times, players like Paco Alcácer and Marc Bartra tried their luck at 'BVB' after an unfruitful stint at Barcelona.

Ansu Fati 'turned down' several suitors in the winter market

With the closure of the Turkish market this week, the '10' closed the last door he had left to try his luck away from Barcelona in the second half of the 2024/25 season. Clubs like Fenerbahce and Besiktas inquired about the player from Bissau, but the winger's stance was inflexible throughout the winter market, even when teams like Betis and Sevilla also showed interest in negotiating his loan for six months.

In this regard, Ansu will try to convince Hansi Flick to include him in his rotation plans in the coming weeks. The coach promised to count on the 22-year-old forward if he trains at full capacity from now on, although Fati will start as the last option in attack behind Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Pau Víctor. So far, he has barely accumulated 186 minutes in 8 of the 36 matches played by the team. With no Champions League until mid-March, the schedule does not seem to help him much.
