The arrival of Dani Olmo apparently raises a question regarding the future of Pedri González. All this is related to a potential dispute for ownership in the '10' position, a situation that could not be to the Tenerife's liking and could give 'wings' to the interest of other clubs in signing him
The increasingly likely arrival of Dani Olmo at FC Barcelona raises a big question related to the role that Pedri González could play in the Culé squad after the arrival of the player from Terrassa. It is worth remembering that both players seem very comfortable operating in the '10' position, that is, in the attacking midfielder role, with creative freedom to play behind the forward and near the goal area.
Now, what issue could arise with the arrival of the player from Egara to the Blaugrana team? Simply put, given that it represents a significant financial investment, around €60M, it would be logical to think that the current RB Leipzig player would arrive with his position as an attacking midfielder secured. This situation could potentially cause some unease for the '8', who would have to decide between being a substitute in the '10' position or contributing from another position such as in the central midfield area.
This scenario is clearly difficult to assess, given that it is acknowledged that the player from Tegueste, considered one of the non-transferable players in the Catalan club, becomes a truly differential element when he is in full physical condition. Additionally, he possesses creativity and inventiveness worthy of the best in the world, which raises the question of whether the midfielder should settle for a substitute role or if this decision could motivate him to consider a different footballing destination.
The offer with which Manchester United would try to sign Pedri González
At this point, in a hypothetical scenario in which Pedri González seriously considers leaving the club and the Culé team reconsiders its position on the possible departure of one of its most valuable assets (valued at €80M according to 'Transfermarkt'), there would already be interest from a 'big' Premier League club in acquiring his services. Manchester United would be interested in knowing the conditions to finalize this transfer operation from the Barcelona side.
In that sense, as reported on 'El Nacional.cat', the 'Red Devils' would be willing to pay around €60M to FC Barcelona for the services of the former UD Las Palmas player. This amount may not be considered optimal by the Blaugrana team, which recognizes in Pedri González a top-level player whose potential has been hampered by injuries, but who whenever given the opportunity, shows flashes of brilliance.
Furthermore, the player from Tenerife constantly shows his deep-seated feelings towards Barça. This only serves to suggest that he has no immediate intentions of leaving the team with whom he has a contract until 2026 and where he appears very happy. However, as unlikely as it may seem, it remains a dismissible situation, just like any unexpected move that tends to happen in the various transfer markets.
