FC Barcelona could close a couple of record sales in the next summer market. The latest reports indicate Chelsea are interested in Ronald Araújo and Jules Koundé

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Chelsea's board does not seem willing to turn off the tap in the next transfer market. After spending more than 1,000 million euros on reinforcements, most of which were not very profitable for the club, those from Stamford Bridge have reportedly set their sights on FC Barcelona, at the request of coach Enzo Maresca.

According to the latest information from England, the American businessman Todd Bohely could put 70 million euros for Jules Koundé and another 80 million for Ronald Araújo, reaching around 150 million euros that would allow Barça to secure the arrival of a superstar in 2025. The Uruguayan would be the one with the most options to leave, although the 'blue' priority points to the Frenchman as a winter reinforcement.

In the case of the '4', the operation seems more feasible, although Barça already ruled out a similar offer from Bayern Munich for Rivera's player this year. Araújo hopes to reappear this month "like a bull" to try to regain his starting position, a very complicated mission, in addition to his prolonged period of absence, due to the great level shown by the Iñigo Martínez-Pau Cubarsí duo in the first three months of the season.

Koundé is again rumored to be a Chelsea reinforcemen

The London team was close to signing the Frenchman in 2022, but the defender opted for Barcelona, as did Raphinha, ruling out a higher salary at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea returned to the charge for the Parisian last summer, trying to take advantage of Xavi Hernández's intention to put the French international on the transfer list to sign another right-back.

However, after the departure of the Egarense and the subsequent arrival of Hansi Flick to the Barça bench, the '23' regained his undisputed status. So far in 2024/25, Jules is one of the players in the squad who has played the most minutes (1,379), with just a couple of substitute appearances against Alavés and Espanyol, both due to disciplinary punishment.

Beyond his problems in complying with Flick's rigorous schedule, the 26-year-old defender is a key player for Barça and, considering that his contract ends in 2027, there would be no reason to fear for his future, since the player has stated that he feels very comfortable in Catalonia.
