Chelsea is after Koundé again: Can Barça keep the Frenchman?

Since that summer of 2022 when they engaged in an exciting bidding war with FC Barcelona for his signing, Chelsea has not stopped closely following the steps of Jules Koundé. Although the amount of the offer has not been disclosed, the player knows that his salary would be significantly increased and that he would return to playing in his natural position in the center of defense, making the proposal inevitably tempting.

Barça works to 'secure' Koundé

However, both Barça and the player himself have no intention of parting ways for the next season. In fact, the defender already has a preliminary agreement with the club to extend his contract. The player's current contract expires in June 2027, but his renewal would tie him for three more seasons, until 2030, when he turns 31 years old.

There are still details to be defined, but the agreement is on track, although it would have to wait until summer to announce it because, right now, there is not enough salary space.
