FC Barcelona remains very attentive to Jadon Sancho's future at Manchester United. The one from London has no place in the 'Red Devils' squad and aims to go out on loan again, although 'Man U' is prioritizing his definitive sale for around 40 million euros. The 24-year-old winger has a contract until 2026 and at Old Trafford they aspire to recover, at least, part of the 85 'kilos' that the club paid Borussia Dortmund for his transfer in 2021.
In that sense, Deco does not rule out taking advantage of United's urgencies with Sancho who, despite having left a good image last season on his return to 'BVB', still has not found a team. The forward added 3 goals and 3 assists in 21 games in Germany and, for the Barça sports director, he has what is necessary to reinforce the team's left wing after the fiasco of the 'Nico Williams operation'. In addition to Jadon, the board has its sights on Federico Chiesa and Rafael Leao, the latter an almost impossible alternative due to its very high price.
Jadon Sancho's salary, a serious obstacle for Barça
However, the Sancho option is not easy for the Catalan interests either. In the case of negotiating a loan without a purchase option, Barça would have to assume the entire salary of the winger, which is around 16 million euros gross (8 'kilos' net). Last season, Dortmund took care of 40% of his emoluments, in addition to paying another €3M for the loan. This year, United are not willing to continue paying part of the salary of a player who has been ruinous for the club, which is why his definitive sale is considered a priority.
Although Erik Ten Hag does not have him, he gave him minutes in the Community Shield final last Saturday against Manchester City, putting him in the 83rd minute instead of Marcus Rashford. The Dutchman also gave him some training during the preseason, seeking to facilitate his exit. However, with a week to go until the summer market closes, there are still no concrete offers, although several 'big players' have been suggested as possible destinations for the 24-year-old player. The latest rumors point to Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea in the 'race' for the Englishman, although the arrival of Joao Félix to the 'Blues' seems to leave the former Borussia without a place.
