The Manchester City aims to revolutionize the transfer market this January. After a complicated first half of the season, the 'skyblue' entity has rolled up its sleeves to bolster Pep Guardiola's squad with several key reinforcements and, after 'securing' Uzbek central defender Abdukodir Khusanov, they are on the verge of closing one of the 'bombshells' of the winter window.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Mancunians have practically completed the signing of Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian has established himself as one of the great sensations on the continent with 19 goals and 12 assists in the 25 matches he has played with Eintracht Frankfurt this season, prompting the 'citizens' to go all out to secure his services.
A million-dollar operation
The transfer of the 25-year-old player, valued at 60 million euros by 'Transfermarkt', would be set around 80 'kilos'. The agreement between the 'skyblues' and the African is total, and all signs point to the operation being finalized next week, with the German club resigning to their star player and setting their sights on Niclas Füllkrug as a possible replacement.
In this way, FC Barcelona loses an option for the attack to the Mancunians. The Catalans had noted Marmoush's name on their agenda as an alternative to Robert Lewandowski in the forward position, and although he was not one of the main candidates, he was very much liked by the sports management. However, after the deal with City, the Catalans will direct their efforts towards other targets, with Alexander Isak being the club's top favorite.
