Danger for Barça? Two Premier League giants go for Koundé

The FC Barcelona board is clear that several of Hansi Flick's 'untouchables' will receive very attractive offers in the next summer market. One of them is Jules Koundé, the player with the most minutes in the squad this season (4,081'). His consolidation as a right-back has aroused the interest of several giants in Europe, with the Premier League being one of the most feasible destinations for the French international.

In that sense, the latest information indicates the interest of Arsenal and Chelsea in Barça's '23'. The 'Blues' were close to signing him in 2022 and have knocked on his door on other occasions, while Mikel Arteta also dreams of his arrival to a 'Gunner' team whose main objective is to incorporate offensive-minded players in the next transfer window. Enzo Maresca's team, on the other hand, prioritize shielding their defense ahead of their possible return to the Champions League in 25-26.

The offer with which Arsenal and Chelsea would seek to take Koundé

In principle, both clubs would start negotiations with Barça starting from an offer in the order of 75 million euros. An amount that the Azulgrana team considers low, since the Frenchman is currently valued at around 60 'kilos' and his termination clause, like other references in the squad, is 1,000 M€. The Parisian will enter his penultimate year of contract next season and, for the moment, there is full confidence about his renewal.

Beyond the need to raise funds, Barcelona does not plan to listen to offers for Koundé, unless it is a figure close to 100 million euros and the defender expresses his desire to leave. Jules arrived in Catalonia in 2022 for 50 'kilos' and has become one of the best in the world on the right flank. This season he has played practically everything at an exceptional level and already has 137 official appearances with the team (6 goals and 18 assists).
