Deco continues to scour the market in search of forwards for FC Barcelona. One of the names on the radar of the Catalan sporting director is Samu Omorodion, the new scorer for Porto

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Samu Omorodion has had an excellent debut season with Porto. The player from Melilla has scored 18 goals and provided 2 assists in 25 matches with the 'dragons', making him the second top scorer in the Primeira Liga, only surpassed by Viktor Gyökeres (22). The Spanish international has netted 13 goals in the tournament, and his performance has caught the attention of FC Barcelona and other major clubs in Europe.

In this regard, the latest reports indicate Deco's interest in the former Atlético de Madrid player. The forward joined Porto last summer for 15 million euros, and his value has skyrocketed to 50 'kilos' during the first half of the season. Barcelona prioritizes bringing in another scorer next summer, and Samu would be a very interesting 'low-cost' alternative, although the 'dragons' will hardly let him go for less than 30 'kilos'.

Samu Omorodion awaits a 'top' offer next summer

Samu signed until 2029 and has fit very well into coach Vitor Bruno's scheme. In addition to his physical power and lethality in aerial play, the Spanish attacker is characterized by a fearsome shot. Last summer, he was crowned Olympic champion in Paris, alongside Eric García, Pau Cubarsí, and Fermín López, the latter being the top scorer and MVP of La Roja in the tournament.

This season, Atlético had no choice but to let him go after signing Alexander Sorloth and Julián Álvarez. For Barcelona, his arrival would provide a good backup for Robert Lewandowski, a role that this season has fallen to Ferran Torres and Pau Víctor. However, Barcelona aims for a '9' of greater stature to replace the experienced Polish forward. If, ultimately, Gyökeres proves impossible, Omorodion would be a viable option. In the 23-24 season, the player from Melilla scored 9 goals in 36 matches with Alavés.
