Diego Carlos has become one of the great revelations of LaLiga after emerging in Sevilla. The Brazilian central player generates interest among large clubs
Last summer, Monchi again proved that it is a true emerging star radar. The Seville sports director opted for the signing of Diego Carlos, the central defender who played for Nantes and whose transfer amounted to 15 million euros. A few months after that, the Brazilian has put his name among that of the great defenders of LaLiga Santander.
His brilliant performances and his age - he is 27 years old and is at the height of his career - have made Diego Carlos become one of the listed centrals in the international market. Clubs like Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid or Liverpool would have already been interested in their services and it has even come to sound for FC Barcelona, which is looking for a central defender.
"If I go out it's to go to a much bigger team"
In a telematic conversation with Muchodeporte, Diego Carlos spoke about the interest of these clubs. "So far, my agent does not talk to me about these situations. I am not interested in knowing about other teams. I always tell him that, if he is going to tell me something, that it is something firm. That he does not come with stories, because I must have my head at Sevilla. I don't want those things to cause me a distraction, "he said.
Of course, Diego Carlos left the door open to leave Seville if a team from the European elite knocks on his door, although he made it clear that he already considers Seville one of the greats. "I am clear that coming to Seville is already taking a very big leap. If I ever leave Seville, it would be to go to a much bigger club, because Sevilla is already great," he said.
'Wink' to Barça
Diego Carlos also answered about the forwards who have made him suffer the most in his career, naming Luis Suárez, who could be his teammate at Barça in the future. "In LaLiga, Luis Suárez. He is very intelligent, very expert. He knows how to position himself when he receives and the defenders must be careful. If you go in, he knows how to protect himself to get a foul and in Barcelona they have very good pitchers," he admitted.
From his experience in the French championship, he considers that Edinson Cavani, from Paris Saint-Germain, is the one that has made him suffer the most. "In France, Cavani. He is very strong, he hits from anywhere, he never stops, he gives the defense a lot of work, he always went back to help the comrades despite his age," he confessed, showing his devotion to the Uruguayan battering rams.
