An old acquaintance of the FC Barcelona reserve team could try his luck in LaLiga in January. This is Ferran Jutglà, who has lost his starting position at Belgian club Bruges
Ferran Jutglà could try his luck at another club starting next January. The 25-year-old forward has some interesting offers on the table for the winter market, beyond his weak start to the season with Bruges. The Belgian team is third in its league (six points behind the leader) and remains in the play-off positions in the Champions League.
However, the little prominence of the player from Sant Julià de Vilatorta in the Belgian league seems to open the exit door for him in January, although in the Champions League he has started three of the four games played so far. The forward has scored a couple of goals in 18 games (712 minutes in all competitions), but clearly does not have the confidence of coach Nicky Hayen, who has relegated him to a secondary role.
In 2022/23, Jutglà started his career in Belgian football very well, scoring 5 goals in the first 6 rounds of the local league, in addition to a couple more goals in two of his first three Champions League games. However, his offensive production dropped considerably in the second half of the season, closing his first year in Bruges with 15 goals and 8 assists in 44 games.
Sevilla, main alternative for Ferran Jutglà in LaLiga
Last season he maintained similar records, adding 11 goals and 9 assists in 50 official appearances, but in 24/25 for the first time he lost the starting position and this would have aroused the interest of a Sevilla team desperate to improve their scoring production. García Pimienta's men have only scored 12 goals in the first 13 days of LaLiga, one of the reasons why they are in the lower part of the standings (13th).
In that sense, the 'Estadio Deportivo' portal assures that the Seville team could negotiate shortly for the transfer of Ferran, without a mandatory purchase option and for only six months. The 25-year-old forward stood out in Barcelona for his physical power and punch, with 19 goals and 6 assists in 32 duels played with the Barça reserve team. In addition, he managed to play 9 official matches with the first team in which he scored a couple of goals.
Jutglà has a contract with Bruges until 2026 and, if he maintains his secondary role under Nicky Hayen, it is very likely that he will leave for another club in January, although we will have to wait for the Belgians' position on a simple loan. The club paid 5 million euros net to Barça for his transfer in 2022 and, for the moment, his market value remains at 6 'kilos'. In the event of a future sale, the culés have 10% of the transfer insured.
