Leroy Sané seems determined to leave Bayern Munich in the summer. The winger's contract ends in June, and FC Barcelona still has him in their sights as a possible reinforcement for the left flank.
Bayern Munich's management is starting to consider Leroy Sané lost. The German international remains important for coach Vincent Kompany, but his salary demands seem to seal his departure from the Munich club at 'zero cost' next summer. The forward knows that several clubs are watching his future and aims to return to the Premier League, although he also keeps the option of FC Barcelona open.
The Blaugrana team has among its priorities to sign a left winger next summer, and the Essen native is one of the alternatives that the management likes, as he would arrive at 'zero cost'. However, the salary issue compromises the options of a Barça that depends on at least a couple of important sales to offset the arrival of reinforcements, thanks to the 1:1 rule that allows reinvesting in signings all earned from transfers.
The factor that could bring Leroy Sané closer to Barça
In this sense, the only way in which Barça could be interested in Sané is if the 29-year-old winger agrees to reduce his salary. Leroy earns 20 million euros gross per year, a salary that Bayern's management is not willing to maintain next season. This stance has caused the German international to distance himself in recent weeks, practically ruling out his renewal.
The Essen native has been mentioned as a possible reinforcement for Arsenal or Manchester United, two clubs with enough financial margin to offer him a more attractive contract. Barça, on the other hand, prefers to bet on younger players (Rafael Leao, Nico Williams) who, while representing a higher expense due to their transfer costs (Sané would arrive for free), provide more security for the future.
The Bavarian '10' has scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists in 29 matches (1,448 minutes) this season and does not seem to be the preferred option for Hansi Flick, who knows him well from his time with the German national team. Beyond his talent and ability to play in various attacking positions, Sané has a difficult character to manage and, both at Bayern and Manchester City, he has been characterized by his inconsistency. However, if the winger decides to lower his salary, the Blaugrana team will consider him for the summer.
