FC Barcelona does not neglect its options with one of this season's feeling in the Premier League, Dean Huijsen
Talking about Dean Huijsen means talking about one of the breakout players of the 2024-25 season. A defender who, after his first solid year at AFC Bournemouth under the guidance of Andoni Iraola, has managed to stand out at 19 years old as a very attractive option for the big European clubs looking to strengthen their squads with a potential signing.
And why wouldn't he? This Spanish-Dutch defender excels, among other things, for his great technical ability in ball distribution and his knack for joining the offensive plays, displaying an excellent striking ability from both medium and long distances with both feet (he is ambidextrous). Additionally, Huijsen stands out for his imposing aerial game thanks to his height of 1.97 meters, all complemented by a strong defensive ability. These attributes have placed him on the list of potential signings for several top European teams.
Among these teams is FC Barcelona. In fact, as reported by the English media outlet 'The Sun Football', the Blaugranas are closely monitoring Dean Huijsen's progress with the intention of considering a move in the future. It is also stated that another Spanish 'giant', Real Madrid, is also keeping a close eye on the defender.
Huijsen has been on Barcelona's transfer radar before
It is worth remembering that Huijsen, who has already represented Spain at the under-21 level, is not new to the FC Barcelona's transfer radar. In fact, in 2021, as mentioned by the player's agent in an interview with 'Tuttosport', Jordi Cruyff, in his role as sporting director at that time, tried to sign him. However, Dean chose Juventus because of the clarity of the project they offered and his interest in developing as a defender in Serie A.
It remains to be seen whether, given that he is currently not at Juventus and considering he doesn't rule out returning in the future, he would be interested in joining one of Spain's big clubs like FC Barcelona, known for being a breeding ground for top defenders. It will also be important to consider whether AFC Bournemouth is willing to sell him and, if so, at what price, given that his market value stands at €18 million according to 'Transfermarkt', and is on the rise.
