Andreas Christensen will be Barça's big reinforcement in the winter market. The Dane is facing the end of his recovery and Flick is waiting for his return
Andreas Christensen has gone virtually unnoticed so far this season. A tendinopathy in his left Achilles tendon allowed him to play just 26 minutes in the first matchday of LaLiga against Valencia, and since then he has been in the club's infirmary working on recovering from an injury that he has been carrying since last season and that ended up taking its toll on him this year.
The Dane has already been out for more than two months and his return to the pitch does not seem very close. However, the footballer has already stepped onto the pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and the sensations are positive despite the fact that there is still no set date for his return.
A return that, as of today, is a slight problem for FC Barcelona, since Christensen is not registered because the Catalans gave him a low rating arguing that it was a long-term injury in order to facilitate the registration of Dani Olmo. In order for the defender to be back under Hansi Flick's orders, he must first have been registered in LaLiga.
Christensen's case, a priority for Barça
Christensen's file is an absolute priority for both the coaching staff and the sports management. The central position is very short of players and, when the time comes, Pau Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez will have to rest so as not to wear themselves out. For this reason, the Catalans have directed all their efforts to return to the 1/1 rule, an essential condition for Andreas to be registered again.
According to 'SPORT', Deco's room for manoeuvre today remains limited despite the significant salary reduction achieved in the summer, so the Catalans are working incessantly to recover the economic conditions necessary to operate normally. And it is here where Christensen's recovery becomes a top priority.
The defender fits perfectly into Flick's idea for the defence, and given the idea of not signing in the winter market, his return seems essential for the rest of Barça's season. Apart from the Dane, Eric García is also pushing for a quick return and Ronald Araújo could see action after the November international break.
