FC Barcelona, ​​increasingly closer to adding a few million for the transfer of Mingueza

The FC Barcelona is still hoping to reap a good 'harvest' from a revalued Óscar Mingueza. The Barcelona academy player is having a dream 2024-25 season with Celta Vigo, the club where the Barça squad sent him in 2022, and where he has undergone a transformation in his playing style.

The advancement in Mingueza's position has allowed the player from Santa Perpetua de Mogoda to showcase his best version both on the field and in the statistical department. The '3' from Celta currently has two goals and five assists in 20 matches played in the 2024-25 season.

Thanks to this, Mingueza has become an attractive asset for several international teams that have shown interest in acquiring his services. One of these clubs is Aston Villa managed by Unai Emery, who appears to be well positioned to finalize his transfer through the payment of his release clause.

According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the 'Villans' are already in advanced talks to pay the necessary €20 million to sign Mingueza. Consequently, the deal seems to be on the verge of completion.

It is important to mention that in this transaction, Barcelona, which has the option to repurchase the defender and owns 50% of the economic rights for any future sale, would receive €10 million in this case.

The outcome of this operation in the winter transfer market is yet to be seen. Although Aston Villa's interest in Mingueza is clear, nothing can be taken for granted until the transaction is finalized, especially considering that Unai Emery's team is also evaluating other assets like Andrei Rațiu (Rayo Vallecano) and Juan Foyth (Villarreal CF) to strengthen their right flank.
