FC Barcelona already has a 'low cost' alternative in mind to try to sign this summer in case its interest in Nico Williams does not bear fruit to reinforce the club's left-winger. This would also be a 'top' option, in addition to having a good track record in Italian football
It is no secret that FC Barcelona is monitoring several options in the market to strengthen their left wing. Given the apparent failure of the signings of Nico Williams or Luis Díaz, it's not surprising that the Catalan team is expanding its options to reinforce a position where there is a real opportunity that the Blaugrana club could be considering taking advantage of.
The player in question is Federico Chiesa, the left winger from Juventus, who apparently does not fit into Thiago Motta's sports plans for the 2024/25 season, and has been put on the market by the 'Vecchia Signora' at an attractive price ranging between 15 and 20 million euros. This amount is quite interesting for a player who, in good form, can be a differential element and who, at 26 years old, surely still has a lot of football to offer.
Now, as suggested by 'SPORT', FC Barcelona is reportedly considering entering the bidding for the former Fiorentina player, taking advantage of the fact that he was offered to the club once it became known that 'Juve' was willing to transfer him. Under this premise, the mentioned source indicates that the Catalan team has already investigated the conditions and is evaluating the feasibility of the operation, although it is highlighted that there hasn't been a formal offer from the Barcelona team yet, due to the need to make sales to be able to make a solid offer for the Genoese player.
Chiesa would prioritize wearing the FC Barcelona shirt
In this context, Federico Chiesa, whose earnings are around five million euros net per season, would be interested in signing a contract of at least three years to join a new sports project. He is also attracted by the option of playing at Barcelona, so he would prioritize the proposal from the Catalan squad over the interest of other European giants like Manchester United and Chelsea, who have also shown interest in acquiring his services, although apparently they have not received a response from the forward, who has not yet made a decision and is evaluating his future options.
